Dinner

Everyone has gone out for bonfires and firework displays, but poor me has a cold.

So I packed off the LSH, (long suffering husband) warmly wrapped up in cashmere scarves, and here I am, having dinner for one. On a tray. I cooked it myself, roasted tomatoes with anchovies, tossed with fresh dill and pasta. Even someone with my level of cooking skills, can manage that. This dish relies on good ingredients for flavour, organic fresh tomatoes and good olive oil. Only the eye wateringly expensive olive oil will do. I grow the dill myself on a window box, so proud.

Accompanied with a little kir royale to wash it all down and Keep a sense of occasion,  (otherwise splendid duvet days are in the horizon). Do you like Kir Royales? I love them and most of the time I make them with prosecco rather than champagne. Easy peasy, though the best ones have fresh blackberries in them.
Lady Beatrice, has also agreed to stay indoors and look after me. She normally patrols the gardens at this time, but the fireworks are too loud for her sensitive ear. In case you are not familiar with our customs, we are celebrating Guy Fawkes night. poor man…

Also stuck inside with a cold… and my cat. Nothing like a little feline companionship to get us through. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry to hear you are under the weather, but a nice dinner and drink at home with Lady Beatrice sounds like an excellent remedy. And great that she is in for the night as fireworks are the worst for our pets!
