Impromptu afternoon tea for one, (or two...) quick review Delaunay Counter.

So it is bank holiday weekend and visited the SPA for some much needed ‘me’ time. I had a few errands to run and ended up having afternoon tea at the Delaunay Counter.

One of my favourite places, The Counter (not to be confused with the main restaurant which is more formal) serves its afternoon tea in individual settings. Small enough to indulge without guilt, but still plentiful and utterly delicious.

Afternoon tea for one: scone still warm, fresh out of the oven

Tiny little cakes, ‘viennese’ style. Chocolate/coffee slice tipsy with rum, was particularly divine. Sandwich selection, with tuna tartare and other delights.

...earl grey and a refreshing glass of prosecco.

…earl grey was good but could not refuse a refreshing glass of prosecco.

no this is not the wallpaper- its my CARVEN flower top, working one of those all important London fashion trends….be sure to check them out. What to wear and what to leave behind.

Enjoy the remainder of your bank holiday weekend! We are going to Paris for a few days, time to do some packing now. see you soon.

Thank you very much Phil – I am hoping to put together fun parisian & frenchified posts… 🙂 You should visit though, as you are in London it’s so easy on the eurostar.

I know! One of us was always working at the weekend … Now I have a new job, it’s only one of us, so fingers crossed for soon!

Looks divine! Hoping to see the whole Carven top modeling photo. Have a wonderful trip to Paris (maybe some Chanel/Hermes window shopping). My feline babies are well, thank you.

I have my eye on the Carven and am waiting until it hits a sale point.
Please tell, what are you wearing it with?

No really! It was quite healthy, just one scone with double clotted cream, two petit fours and three small sandwiches with rye bread and brioche…. Not so bad is it?
